Washington, D.C., July 24, 2007 – A number of
social events offering outstanding networking
opportunities will be featured as part of the
AMI Meat, Poultry and Seafood Industry
Convention & Exposition, Oct. 24-27, 2007
at McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill.
The
special events will kick off on Wednesday
evening with the AMI Environmental MAPS Program
Reception, which will recognize the winners of
the second annual Environmental Achievement
Awards. Introduced last year as a way to honor
continued achievement in environmental
stewardship, the Achievement Awards celebrate
plants that go beyond the program’s
environmental compliance
requirements.
International guests will
receive the VIP treatment during a special
welcome reception on Thursday, October 25.
Visitors from around the world are invited to
relax and network with colleagues and
suppliers.
Friday morning, October 26
brings Washington to the Expo with the AMI
Washington Insider Breakfast. This popular
event offers industry members and insider’s
look at what is happening in Washington and how
it affects businesses across the country. This
event allows for interactive dialogue between a
special guest speaker and meeting
participants.
Friday evening, October
26, will close with the AMI Chairman’s Gala.
This annual celebration brings together friends
and colleagues to celebrate a year of success
and look forward to the year ahead. Richard L.
Bond, president and CEO of Tyson Foods, Inc.,
will be recognized for his year of service and
will pass the gavel to a newly elected
chairman. The gala will feature fine food,
great wine and live entertainment.
The
Washington Insider Breakfast and the AMI
Chairman’s Gala are separately ticketed events.
